Wind Project — Wind Measurements
This page describes the wind measurement programme undertaken for the Tulcea Wind Project. Reliable wind measurements are essential for assessing site suitability, estimating energy production, and supporting turbine selection and layout optimisation.

Measurement Programme Overview
Wind measurements at the project site have been carried out using industry-standard meteorological equipment. Data collection commenced in 2008 using a 60-metre measurement mast, providing long-term wind data for the site.
Updated Measurement Campaign
To reflect modern turbine hub heights and enhance data accuracy, an additional 100-metre measurement mast was installed in 2023. This updated dataset supports refined energy yield modelling and turbine optimisation.
Data Quality & Validation
All wind measurement data has been collected, validated, and analysed in accordance with industry best practice. Quality control procedures ensure the reliability of the dataset used for performance modelling and financial analysis.
Detailed wind speed distributions, directional data, and statistical analyses are presented in the Wind Data section.
